Round about the year 2000, I was enthusing about Charlie Christian to the great jazz guitarist, Ralph Patt. Ralph asked for my home address, saying he wanted to send me something, but wouldn’t tell me what. A couple of weeks later I received delivery of all the instrument parts to Charlie’s great “mini guitar concerto”, Solo Flight…

I was amazed at his generosity, and thanked him profusely. Time passed, and Ralph sadly died in 2010. See his wiki page HERE and his very useful website HERE.

In the spirit of Ralph’s generosity, I have decided to make these parts freely available for study. Although Charlie Christian is the composer, the arranger for the orchestra was the great Jimmy Mundy.
